Registered. XCR is really similar to the XCM but is a lighter build, which, given the coil, functionally makes them very close. The XCT is almost a hybrid fork. The build is much less dialed, and it isn't really meant for riding where the front wheel spends much time off the ground.

How much air should I put in my forks?
Start with the recommended air pressure for your weight. If that is not known, try 100psi. On this fork it said l should be running 75psi for my weight but there was always about 30mm unused travel. I dropped the pressure by 5psi, then another 5psi, ending up at 65psi.
Does preload affect ride height?
Preload is independent of spring free length. An 18″ long, 100 lb/in spring with 1″ of preload will give you the same ride height as a 10″ long, 100 lb/in spring with 1″ of preload. In both cases you've applied 100 lb of force before the vehicle weight collapses the spring. The result is the same amount of ride height.

Is 100mm travel enough for trail riding?
For basic trail riding I would recommend something closer to 120mm as most 100mm bikes are xc race bikes and likely won't be as fun on most trails. If you want to do any drops or impacts then 100mm isn't enough. You'll bottom out every time.
